Elder

Terry started attending the PP Church with his family in 1993 and after 3 months of Bible study, Emily, his wife and he were baptized on 26th Aug 1993.

Since the beginning, Terry’s passion is teaching the Word of God to help others apply biblical truths. From his early days as a Christian, he was convinced and convicted through the Word, that Christian Foundation is crucial to spiritual growth and transformation (Romans 12:2) which is key to Christian living that is acceptable and pleasing to God.

Together with other faithful men in the church, he had taught the Christian Foundation Bible Class ever since it was started. He is always looking for opportunity to teach anyone who wants to learn how to apply biblical truths, either one on one or in a class setting. He has also involved in teaching in the Filipino Bible Class, Wednesday Bible Class and preaches occasionally to edify and encourage.

Between 2008 to 2012, Terry was the Care Team coordinator serving the foreign workers ministry, focusing on spiritual growth, well-being and support. He was involved with the worship ministry for several years and served as the 8am Worship Team coordinator. He has also participate in leading devotions, group discussions and prayer walks during the annual church camp in Malaysia and served as a bus captain.

Terry loves to do mission work, encouraging our mission partners in this region. He was involved with the Myanmar, Vietnam and Philippines brethren and leaders as well as the SIBI graduates who have returned to serve in their home countries. In Aug 2015, when there was a national flood disaster in Myanmar, he was touched by the hardship caused to the Myanmar brethren. As such, he headed the Flood Crisis Fund Raising and led three visits to the affected areas.

Today, in response to God’s calling, he has accepted the role of an Elder in equipping the saints, to teach, preach and edify the body of Christ, so that we will all come to the unity of faith and the knowledge of the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Terry Wan is married to Emily Cheong and they have two wonderful children, Candice (married to Isaac) and Irvin (married to Xin Tian). They are blessed with three grandsons, Joshua (2.6 years), Jonathan (4 months) and Micah (2 years).

Terry was trained in Electronic and Communications and used to work in the telecoms industry as a Regional Technical Sales Manager. He is now retired and plan to devote himself to church ministry work.
