Children’s Ministry

Luke 18:16-17

Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.

Colossians 3:20

Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord.

As soon as the babies are able to sit up, our teachers employ tactile techniques during lessons to interact with them and help them to become aware of their surroundings and the world that God has created for them. The various topics that are covered are God’s Creation, Thank You God for Making Me, Baby Jesus and God makes Family. They also learn about the Bible and are taught to pray through sign language.

This class engages in purposeful play through sensory and experiential activities that help them to understand the concepts of worship and prayer. They also learn about the characters in Bible stories and simple memory verses.

Through songs, craftwork and interactive games, the children learn about the life of Jesus (from birth to adulthood) as well as Bible characters. They also learn about the principles of Christian living like love, joy and compassion.

To enhance the learning of the children who have a deeper level of understanding at this age, activity worksheets and craftwork are used to teach more Bible stories, even as they learn to sing and memorise Bible verses.

The curriculum for the Primaries group focuses on covering the books of the Bible (OT and NT), over the 6 years they attend Sunday Bible classes. The lessons crafted engage the students in higher order thinking as they are taken through events (both good and bad) in the Bible and what they can glean from these happenings in the past.

The Upper Primaries are also given opportunities to lead in singing and prayer, as well as contribute more actively in Missions Giving, so that they can recognize their role in church growth.
