Church Membership

When you become a Christian by the New Testament pattern of conversion, you automatically become a member of God’s kingdom family – His Universal Church.

As mentioned in the bible, the church is made up of Christians and in like manner, new Christians will seek to be associated with a local church congregation in order to join in with the new spiritual family to worship, fellowship, and be of service to the community.

Becoming a member of a local church also underlines your commitment to Christ and His commandments, showing your support to the local church’s vision and mission.

Membership Requirements

PPCOC abides by the pattern of conversion exemplified in New Testament and stated below:

  • Faith in Jesus Christ as the Son of God (John 3:16)
  • Repentance of past sins (Acts 3:19)
  • Confession of one’s faith in Jesus Christ as the Son of God (Rom 10:9)
  • Baptism by immersion in water for the forgiveness of past sins (Rom 6:3-4)

As PPCOC is governed by the Societies Act, the Charities Act and our Church Constitution, we are required to maintain a Membership Register amongst other things. As such, individuals who are baptised at PPCOC may apply to become a member of the Church. Individuals who are not baptised at PPCOC but meet the prerequisites for New Testament conversion may request for a transfer from their current church to PPCOC. Persons who are below 18 years of age shall require parental consent before acceptance as members. Similarly, members who wish to transfer membership out of PPCOC are encouraged to inform the Church accordingly.
