better get to this gem of a find before channel u gets there!
right now my friends from the east coast are making trips
with their friends to enjoy REALLY GOOD thai food at the west coast market.
i should know good food because
i have a 3Cs (computer, cuisine & church) webpage,
visited by over half a million people.
especially, i should know thai food because
i am married to a thai wife who is also a great cook.
i visit thailand several times each year,
and more often to thai town - wah hup complex at beach road.
last month, my wife selected a few dishes
to take home for a ladies' fellowship
at our home for 20 people.
at $2 per head
- whether it is tom yam soup,
beef/chicken in basil leaf, green curry or phat thai,
all these delicious food costs less than $100.
my daughter ordered several more dishes
for 50 people for her xmas lunch.
really good.
their tom yam is probably best in singapore,
jb and batam - their signature dish.
other dishes that i like are hor fun in sweet sauce,
fried tang hoon, beef ball kuay teow and fried rice.
i told them i will post their stall on the web,
so if you mention to them
'you heard of their stall from henrykong on the internet',
you'll be given special treatment.
contact tik (the stall owner) or her husband, chee keong at 98319303.
$2-3 per dish prt head for catering, ie orders of 20 and above.
eat in is at hawker prices - around $3
- very cheap and really good.
btw this stall called sjj thai food
is one of the many stalls at the 24-hour coffee shop
at block 727 #01-294 Clementi West St 2
(do not confuse it with another coffee shop in the same block
- this one faces the car park
and is next to the post office which is next to the 7eleven store)

this evening my family was back at the thai stall
and enjoyed a great dinner for just a fistful of dollars.
the owner, tik came to our table
and i took the opportunity to snap her picture
she told me that over the weekend,
there were many people at her stall,
some coming from as far as bedok.
they mentioned my name
and that they learned about her stall from my blog.
there was a period when almost every table
at the coffee shop was ordering food from her,
that she dared not look up at customers
for fear of more orders
(which she thinks will offend the other stall holders).
all the dine-in food are at hawker prices and will continue unchanged.
she told me that the catering dish of may be adjusted slightly,
but promised to hold firm until 19 january
- the date when my blog and the m1-samsung testdrive ends.
