this monday, on my day off
i spent an hour or so at chinatown's pearl centre
where there was a zillion phone vendors
i spoke to 3 friendly vendors
all of them had made-in china phones
the first had a 'tv phone' for $350
looks pretty nice
no need a data plan
but reception like watching tv with indoor antenna
hmmm...
the next had a iphone clone
but had more buttons on the front
than the real thing
- sure looks like the p168+
(which i will review later on this section)
so didnt asked about it
the third shop had a identical twin of iphone
right down to the apple screensaver and box
but thankfully, once you switch it on
it is nothing like an iphone
there was no manufacturer, just a model number 5688
it's actually a pretty good phone
with capable sms
and really loud speakers
(that's what i like)
it has also camera, camcoder
mp3 player, voice recorder, email, wap
photo viewer, ebook reader, etc
but nothing to really write home about
except the ebook reader
which can read bible in pdb
and search my church directory in txt
here are some shots of the made-in-china iphone lookalike
lol - right to the apple clownfish screensaver
that's where the lookalike ends
unlike the iphone
which is an ipod imitating a phone
this is a real phone
imitating an iphone
closer shot:
fun, simple phone
easy to use and configure
loud volume (good for ear bud haters like me)
