I used to go for hi-powered phones. That is until I hit the ceiling with the Nokia e90. With a 2 gig card, I had all the games, emulators and apps from my s60 3rd edition reviews - http://secentral.net/forum/index.php?topic=13707.0.

Then one day, I started to wise up. Even overseas, without my family and with all the time in the world, I wasnt even feeling like playing with any of these stuff. Also, unless the phone is designed like a psp, it is hard playing most games.

So I sold off the e90 for less than half price, played around with fun phones like the iPhone (3 of 'em) and LG Viewty. After all, a phone is just a phone, but it needs to have a qwerty pad for me to sms. In addition, if it's fun, I will go for it.

This is a real turn around for me, but this is the way I will go unless I changed my mind. So in this spirit, I'm looking at made-in-China phones and will be reviewing them in future reviews.

Occasionally, you will find them in vendors at Sim Lim, Chinatown and even at the West Coast HDB shops. However, a good place is Deal Extreme (http://www.dealextreme.com/) in Hongkong.

Take for instance the yet-to-arrive Lg Voyager below

Then compare it with this ZTC 8898 copycat (http://www.ztcmobile.com/)

Or take a look at this iPhone lookalike below

I dont know about you, but it looks like fun to me! Stay tuned for more made-in-China stuff here! Or goto sites like http://www.qxmc.com/ and http://www.ztcmobile.com/en/ for more made in China phones!
