As I was getting my Archos 402 ready to pass it off FOC
i started clearing out personal stuff
and putting in the Jule Miller's set of videos,
chinese Jesus movie (Luke)
and powerpoints
it occured to me how user-friendly it was

since the 402,
archos has released 3 more generations of pmps
with larger screen, better resolution an wifi, web browsing and even games

since i dont think i will be using the archos for internet
ipod touch does a better job here
i decided to get a used 604

so what is the archos 604?

1 first, it is a 30gig external hard disk
just plug in into any pc
and swap files around
nothing to install

2 it is a video player like no other
just drop compatible files to the video folder
and it works like a dream
no fuss, no mess

3 it is also a photo viewer
it will store photos in its original resolution
unlike ipods
and really looks sharo and crisp

4 it is an mp3 player
nothing much to say here
but it's there

5 it's also a wifi wireless internet browser

6 finally it's a pdf viewer
no 'find' feature
but still good to have

bottomline:
a really nice portable thingy at a good price
