Some Made-in-Asia Smartphone Software
While I was looking around for smartphone software to play with,
I happened to stumble on Majong Paradise
by a Taiwanese developer.
Although there are few Palm OS developers in Asia,
the PPC has its share of leading Asian developers
like JimmySoft of Thailand
and Zio Interactive of Korea.
Now here's a Taiwanese company, Aidem offering a good number
of smartphone software.
I grew up learning majong from watching my parents play
and really enjoy the game. It is
so good that I can now play it on the go,
and especially by an Asian company
who knows majong.
Majong Paradise is a well crafted,
full-fledge mahjong game with all the bells and whistles.
It is very intuitive
with numerial keys assigned to options.
Another game offered by Aidem is the
snake game brought to life by early mobile phone companies.
Perhaps you may be asking, why pay $$$ for this game when there are a couple of freeware snake games?
Well, all the 3 freeware snake games I have installed so far
are nothing more than eat, eat and eat... without any levels or challenge.
I have since erased them all
for this one that makes more sense - I'm on level 2 now.
Besides an offering of games, Aidem
also produces applications and utilities as well.
EZphoto is a lot of fun,
something that will keep the little ones happy
especially on a trip.
You can do all sorts of things to a photograph -
add words, greetings, pictures, frames etc.
Great for MMS messages.
Here's a screenshot of one i made just now... more fun than a barrel of monkeys.
On a more serious note,
the photo explorer application is really good.
It makes browsing the photographs you took on your phone, a snap.
Although it does not display videos (eg avi or mpeg),
it is fast, snappy and a lot of fun with features like
memory checker - RAM, flash and SD card.
Take a look at the rest of the fine software for your smartphone by Aidem. You'll be glad you did!
